Additional Workshops to Support Undergraduate Researchers

School of Social Sciences: Statistical Training and Research Techniques@Rice (STaRT@Rice)

October 7-11, 2022

STaRT@Rice is an innovative program that will provide a panoramic view of the research process and offer professionalization opportunities. It will increase expertise via exposure in 16 workshops. Participants will learn how to ask better questions about the research process and develop important professional skills. Workshops will cover a broad range of content, moving from introductory to intermediate to advanced. Thus, participants can choose workshops matching their skill sets and background. A senior undergraduate planning to attend graduate school or a first year graduate student might select workshops including only introductory methodological content such as linear models and professionalization topics including effective research presentations.

Students from underrepresented backgrounds are particularly encouraged to participate. There is a $10 registration fee, and scholarships will cover the participation fee of students with financial need.
