Getting Started

Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry!

Whether you are interested in getting involved in research and design right away or want to understand what research is before jumping in, the new Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI) is here to support you.

Getting Started Checklist

The Getting Started Checklist outlines simple steps you can take to get connected to our resources, upcoming events, and opportunities.

Peer Research Ambassadors

Peer Research Ambassadors are Rice students who have engaged in research, design, and creative work during their undergraduate careers and want to help other students get involved. Ambassadors host office hours and attend OURI workshops and events in order to share information specific to their academic schools. Meet the PRAs here or request a meeting.

Undergraduate Research Mentor Database

Interested in finding a research mentor? Rice Undergraduate Research Mentor Database has information about faculty and research fellows at Rice University and beyond who have mentored Rice undergraduates. You can search by name, department, or area of research.

Search 12Twenty for Research Openings

Use your NetID to browse undergraduate research openings on 12Twenty. The 12Twenty platform is used by Rice University departments, campus partners, and employers to post jobs, internships, and research positions for Rice students specifically. Need assistance?
