Summer Research Opportunities

Undergraduate Summer Research and Opportunities Fair

The 2024 Undergraduate Summer Research and Opportunities Fair will be Wednesday, January 17th from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Grand Hall of the RMC. This event serves as a "one-stop shop" for undergraduates of all disciples interested in learning about opportunities in research, service, and internships at Rice and beyond over the summer. Students can speak to department or program representatives about prerequisites, specific opportunities, how to prepare a competitive application, and more!

Peer Research Advisors

Peer Research Ambassadors are Rice students who have engaged in research, design, and creative work during their undergraduate careers and want to help other students get involved. Ambassadors host office hours and attend OURI workshops and events in order to share information specific to their academic schools. Request a meeting with a PRA here to create a plan for pursuing summer research.

12twenty

12twenty is Rice's job, internship, and research database. Rice students can search for active openings and upcoming opportunities. Log into 12twenty using your NetID.

OURI Mentor Database

If you are looking for a potential research mentor and project, check out OURI’s mentor database here. The mentors database includes information about faculty and research fellows at Rice University and beyond who have mentored (or are open to mentoring) undergraduates. Browse the database by area of interest or department and identify potential mentors to contact. Remember the mentor listings do not indicate a current opening for undergraduate researchers; please inquire directly about availability!
