Thomas Herring & the Houston Food Scene
Thomas Herring is a senior at Martel College studying Electrical and Computer Engineering focusing on robotics and artificial intelligence. He is currently working with Dr. Lydia Kavraki as an undergraduate researcher examining novel methods for robotic motion planning with tools. Thomas is focusing on enabling robots to make use of knowledge of their environments to allow for complex manipulation of objects. Outside of lab, Thomas is working on an elder care robot for his senior design capstone project for Intel Corporation. After Rice, Thomas is pursuing either a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science focusing on cognitive AI. In his free time, Thomas loves to ride his road bike and take photographs.
