Bharathi Selvan & Khao Soi Gai
Bharathi Selvan from Hanszen College graduated in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. For her senior honors thesis, she explored the obstacles and resources impacting renters’ recovery after Hurricane Harvey. Specifically, she conducted semi-structured interviews to focus on the themes of landlords, social networks, and community and assistance organizations. After Rice, Bharathi will be attending medical school, where she hopes to integrate social science research and advocacy into her medical work. In her free time, Bharathi likes to sing and eat spicy food at her favorite restaurants.
