SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: The undergraduate student will contribute to an ongoing project about generating disability movements from various statistical models. The student will complete a secondary quantitative analysis of generated and non-generated movements to support a hypothesis of their choice. The student will also complete various tasks such as a literature review of generative motion and accessible avatars to understand contemporary research; collecting and analyzing qualitative data from interviews; and contributing to a journal paper to share their results.

Potential skills gained: Statistical tests for evaluating hypotheses; digital signal processing; collecting and analyzing human-subject data; academic communication

Required qualifications or skills: Python programming (numpy, scipy, pandas if possible), Basic statistical metrics and analysis, Data structures and algorithms
