Elizabeth Eich is Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry and Professor in the Practice in BioSciences at Rice University. Her work to incorporate active learning and provide professional development for faculty earned her the title National Academies Education Mentor in the Life Sciences, and she has served as a Council on Undergraduate Research consultant for integration of research in the curriculum. Through OURI’s focus on inquiry-based instruction, she has helped faculty develop scaffolded experiences in research-supportive curricula. She earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University and a B.S. in Genetics and Biochemistry from Texas A&M University.
