SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: Wireless networking, sensing, and security. Projects include generation of Airy beams which can steer around obstacles, millimeter scale sensing of objects using dual-purposed communication devices, and ensuring that strong adversaries cannot spoof sensors to incorrectly infer position or motion.

Potential skills gained: Understanding of next generation wireless networks for potential research or jobs in 6G/Wi-Fi 8 or related fields.

Required qualifications: Engineering or physics major required.

Direct mentor: Faculty/P.I., Graduate Student

Research Areas

Wireless networks, urban-scale testbeds, clean-slate design, diverse spectrum access, multi- antenna systems, hardware platforms, high-performance protocol design, security, and performance evaluation.
