SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: The aim of the project is to use mathematical modelling to understand differential gene expression. We will conduct both deterministic and stochastic simulations to predict how gene regulatory networks behave when exposed to input perturbations. Specifically, the student will focus on modelling the B. subtilis, sigma factor B regulatory network.

Potential skills gained: The student will gain experience in modelling of genetic circuits using MATLAB

Required qualifications or skills: Knowledge of differential equations and basic MATLAB programming
