Project Description/Research Team Goals
- Prehabilitation for Cancer Patients: Develop and monitor exercise programs for recently diagnosed cancer patients. Research team will conduct exercise testing on patients before and after intervention and follow their progress after surgery.
- Fitness Assessments for Wellness Programs: Conduct exercise and functional movement testing on individuals completing various exercise programs with Rice's Recreation and Wellness Program.
Issues Addressed
- Developing ideal exercise prescriptions for diseased populations
- Developing new standards of care for cancer patients to include exercise prescription
- Elucidating cellular response to exercise to explain therapeutic benefits

- Ideally would have taken KINE 321: Exercise Physiology (bonus if taken KINE 440: Research Methods)
