SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: The project area centers on wearable and point-of-care sensors and their use in healthcare applications. Potential projects may involve building and testing simple sensor systems, including components such as microfluidic elements or microneedle-based interfaces, as well as learning basic methods to evaluate sensor performance and understand their practical use in real-world settings.

Potential skills gained: Students will develop foundational skills in basic electronics and prototyping, data collection and analysis, material chemistry, and electrochemistry. The project emphasizes experimental design, scientific documentation, and critical thinking, while also fostering teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative research environment.

Required qualifications or skills: Students from all majors with an interest in science, engineering, or healthcare-related topics are welcome to apply.
