SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: Technologies and processes for water treatment, such as using membranes and electrochemistry.

Potential skills gained: Hands-on experience of working in a chemical lab, such as doing simple reactions and building simple devices, research oral and written communication skills, teamwork

Required qualifications or skills: Curiosity and motivations in finding new things

Direct mentor: Post-doctorate

Research Areas

His research focuses on separation technologies and ion-exchange membranes (IEMs), where he aims to advance two frontiers of the current IEM field: conductivity-permselectivity tradeoff and limitations on specific ion selectivity. The work contributes to rational development of more advanced membranes and their efficient deployment in water, energy, and environmental domains.
