SURF Mentoring

Potential projects/topics: (1) Determinants of the dynamics of skeletal muscle fibers of the diaphragm during high ventilatory demand. (2) Understanding the role of obesity in modulating rib cage kinematics in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (3) Mechanical role of cytoskeletal proteins. In particular, the role of desmin and titin in modulating skeletal muscle mechanics.

Potential skills gained: will gain expertise in modeling respiratory muscle kinematics

Required qualifications:

  • Required skills: Experience in MATLAB would be helpful
